How to Place an Animal on Hold
It is always best to personally visit the shelter and spend some time with the animal you have selected for adoption. Staff members will remove the animal and place it in a fenced play area so you can get to know him or her.
We understand, however, that you may not be able to visit the shelter in person before the animal's release/rescue/euthanasia date, so we offer a euthanasia hold program for your convenience.
A euthanasia hold may be placed on animals PRIOR to the release date, which will only be good until 11am on the release date. Priority will be given at 11am in the order holds are received, with in-person holds surpassing phone or email holds. You must be present upon opening for your hold to be honored. If no one is present at 11am on the release date, the pet will be made available on a first come, first served basis.
Individuals and rescue groups alike may place euthanasia holds on animals. Below are links to each form.
