Silver Alert: Ray Ronald Jackson: UPDATE

Gaston County Police have cancelled the Silver Alert notification for Ray Ronald Jackson upon the discovery of his body on March 13, 2017.  He was last known to be at his home on March 5, 2017.

On March 13, 2017, Mr Jackson was found under a bridge in the 500 block of Landers Chapel Rd by a NC Department of Transportation structural inspection crew who were working in the area.  Mr Jackson’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Charlotte, NC for positive identification. 

The investigation into Mr Jackson’s death is still ongoing.  Cause of death will not be released at this time.

Gaston County Police continue to seek assistance from the public in locating Ray Ronald Jackson of 1615 Old Dallas Highway, Dallas, NC.  Mr. Jackson was last known to be at his home on March 5, 2017.  Mr. Jackson is 90 years old and suffers from memory loss as a result of brain surgery several years ago.

Mr. Jackson is approximately 5 ft. 7 inches in height and weighs between 150 and 157 pounds.  Jackson is believed to have been operating his 2000 Ford Contour that is Maroon in color and should be displaying a North Carolina registration plate CCH-2363.

A Silver Alert was issued for Ray Ronald Jackson on March 8, 2017 at the time he was reported missing to the Gaston County Police. Anyone with information on the disappearance of Mr. Jackson is requested to contact the Gaston County Police Department at 704-866-3320.
