On Monday, February 13, 2017, following a two year investigation, the Gaston County Police Department, with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, State Bureau of Investigation and Dallas Police Department, conducted Operation Dirty Needle; an arrest round-up targeting 18 individuals associated with the sale and delivery of heroin in Gaston County.
