County Police and Cramerton Police to Assist In DEA Medicine Disposal Program

On Saturday September 29, 2012 the Gaston County Police Department and the Cramerton Police Department will be participating in a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration sponsored medicine disposal event from 10:00am until 2:00pm in the parking lot of the Food Lion located at 202 Market St. in Cramerton, NC. This event will provide citizens with a safe way to dispose of expired or no longer used prescription and over the counter medications.

Gaston County Police Arrest Local Man For Soliciting a Minor

On September 19, 2012 the Gaston County Police Department arrested Dillon Gregory Ledford, age 20, of Bessemer City, NC for Soliciting Sex from a Minor by Computer and Distributing Pornographic Materials to a Minor.

Gaston County Police File Charges in Bessemer City Cemetery Vandalism

On 09/14/2012 the Gaston County Police Department obtained warrants on two individuals in reference to vandalisms that occurred on 07/18/2012 and 08/11/2012 at the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery at 800 N. 13th St Bessemer City, NC. Damages to the cemetery were in excess of $6,000.00.

Make a Difference, Provide a Meal

The Shelter is in need of meals for September and October. Why the urgency? As of today, The Shelter is housing 30 women and children. Due to the high volume, it is extremely difficult for Shelter staff to prepare meals for such a large group while continuing to manage the everyday duties and devote quality time to the residents.
