Public Notice: Sale of County Property
The following offer has been submitted for the purchase of properties owned by Gaston County:
Tax PID: 137140 (9.8 acres) and 137134 (0.19 acres)
1900 West Davidson Avenue
Minimum Upset Bid: $53,550
Persons wishing to upset this offer shall submit a sealed bid to: Matt Blackwell, Gaston County Public Works, PO Box 1578, Gastonia, NC, 28053, by 5:00 pm, March 12, 2018. At that time, the highest bid received shall become the new highest offer. If there is more than one bid in the highest amount, the first such bid received will become the new offer. A qualifying higher bid is one that raises the existing offer by at least 5%.
All bid offers must be accompanied by a deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid; the deposit may be made by check payable to Gaston County. The County will return the deposit on any bid not accepted, and will return the deposit on an offer subject to upset if a qualifying higher bid is received.The County Commission must approve the final highest offer before the sale is closed. The County reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale at any time before the final high bid is accepted and the right to reject at any time all bids.
