A very important part of the Board's mission is to encourage citizen involvement in county government. The Board recognizes the significant contributions citizens make to Gaston County through their work on county boards, committees and task forces.
With that in mind, the Commissioners established the William Gaston Award. This Award acknowledges the involvement, commitment and dedication of county citizens who volunteer their time and talents in community service.
