Overview
Gaston County HHS receives direction from the Board of Health and Human Services, a policy-making board appointed by the Gaston County Commissioners.
The board is made up of community representatives whose background is pertinent to the agency's mission, including county commissioners, a dentist, an engineer, a nurse, an optometrist, a pharmacist, physicians, a psychologist, a social worker, a veterinarian, consumers of services, and members of the community-at-large.
The Health and Human Services Board Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners Shall Serve as the Policy-making, Rule-making, and Administrative Board of the Health and Human Services Agency. The Health and Human Services Board Shall be Composed of no more than 25 Members. The Composition of the Board Shall Reasonably Reflect the Population Makeup of the County and Shall Include Specified Representation Pursuant to Statute.
