Tax Mapping / GIS

The GIS-Mapping division of the Tax office maintains the county-wide digital parcel layer. We use Geographic Information Systems to translate recorded deeds, plats, and other public records into our GIS parcel layer. Government entities with which we work include the ROD, Clerk of Court, and the surrounding counties. We gather this information for Tax purposes to accurately assess land owned within Gaston County.

Your GIS-Mapping division completes daily checks for recorded deeds, plats, estate files, and local obituaries. We also work with attorneys, surveyors, realtors, and, of course, the public to ensure we maintain an accurate and updated parcel information layer. We take great pride in our efforts to maintain the accuracy of our data and in assisting the public with Tax parcel concerns.
