The Register of Deeds office administers notary public oaths for Gaston County notaries anytime between the hours of 8:30 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The office also has a variety of notary forms available to the general public, including reappointment and change of name/address.

Anyone wishing to become a notary in North Carolina must attend a course of instruction at a Community College (attorneys are exempt from the requirement of attending a course of instruction). Information and registration for this class can be obtained from the Continuing Education Department of each community college.
