On Thursday, 4/27/23, the Gaston County Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension and Suspect Tracking (FAST) team located Robert Eugene Lowe in the area of Windermere Road outside of Mount Holly. Lowe was wanted for an outstanding Felony Probation Violation for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. When FAST team members from the Gaston County Police and the Department of Probation and Parole attempted to arrest Lowe, he ran from officers and barricaded himself inside a residence. Due to Lowe’s violent criminal history, the FAST team requested the Gaston County Emergency Response Team’s (ERT) assistance. ERT responded to the scene and attempted negotiations with Lowe, but was unsuccessful. ERT made entry into the residence and was able to use tactical measures to arrest Lowe safely. Lowe is currently held at the Gaston County Jail on a $55,000 secured bond.
