[ARCHIVED] Commissioner Keigher Appointed to NCACC Board of Directors

Commissioner Tom Keigher

Tom Keigher, longtime Gaston County Commissioner, has agreed to serve on the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners' Board of Directors for the 2022-2023 term as the At-Large Director. In this role, he will represent county commissioners from across the state. His service to county government throughout the state is greatly appreciated, and the Association welcomes his participation in the governance oversight of the Association, stated President Tracy Johnson, County Commissioner from Washington County.

Commissioner Keigher, who has served 24 years as a County Commissioner, previously served as a Director for NCACC from 2016 through 2020.

This board will be sworn in at the Association’s board meeting in October and this term will end at the 116th Annual Conference in August 2023.

The first meeting of the new Board is scheduled for October 14-15, 2022, in Forsyth County.

This will be an important year for the Association as it begins its legislative goals setting process and determines its new advocacy platform for the upcoming biennium. Additionally, work continues as counties plan to spend their ARPA funds, undergo strategic planning for the opioid settlement funds, among other pressing issues. The Association will also be involved in discussing a new building for our Association in downtown Raleigh. This Board plays an important role in guiding the work of the Association on behalf of all 100 counties.
