4. How can I expedite a request?: You can send your request using an express overnight service and enclose a self-addressed prepaid express envelope.

5. How do I change the names on my deed?: You will need to draw up a new deed. It is advised that you see an attorney for this service unless you are familiar with drawing up legal documents.

6. Where do I get the form to file an Assumed Name?: You can print one from this website (see Assumed Names) or the forms are available in the Register of Deeds office located at:

7. How much will it cost to record my Deed, Power of Attorney, etc.?: Our fees are listed under the Uniform Fee Schedule posted on this website.

8. Do you have forms for Power of Attorneys, Deeds, Separation Agreements?: No, we do not have legal forms; we suggest you see an attorney for this service.

9. Do you take credit or debit cards?: Yes.

10. Do I need an appointment to take my Notary Oath?: No appointment is necessary. Our hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm.

12. I have lost my deed, how do I get a copy?: You can purchase a copy from our office in person or request in writing at:

13. What is the cost for a copy of my deed?: Black and white copies are $0.25 cents a page and Certified copies are $5 for the first page and $2 for each additional page.

14. Can anyone access the information contained in the Register of Deeds office?: Yes, all information in our office is public record, except some military records.

15. Can you check for liens on my property?: No. Title research by Register of Deeds employees is prohibited by law. We will be glad to assist you in showing you the books or help with the computers.
