Heather Kauffman


Heather Kauffman, BSW, has served as Program Manager at The Lighthouse Children’s Advocacy Center since 2016. A social worker since 2010, she was a Child Welfare Social Worker and Social Work Supervisor with the Gaston County Department of Social Services. Ms. Kauffman holds a degree in social work from UNC-Charlotte where she was a Child Welfare Collaborative Scholar and is a forensic interviewer with advanced training in interviewing special populations. The Lighthouse provides child victims of abuse with trauma-informed care using best practices and evidence-based modalities; a majority of their clients disclose sexual abuse victimization. The Lighthouse provides comprehensive services to child victims and their families in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team that includes law enforcement, child welfare specialists, prosecutors, mental health professionals, and medical providers.
