Andrea Wyant joined Gaston County in March 2014 as a member of our child welfare staff. Prior to that, she worked in child welfare and vocational rehabilitation counseling for the state of Georgia. Andrea served as a Family Assessor, Foster Home Licensing Social Worker, Adoption Supervisor, and Program Manager for the Cathy Mabry Cloninger Center before transitioning to her role as Assistant Director of Hope United Survivor Network. Andrea has a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and 14 years of experience in public service. She won the County Manager’s Award in 2018 for her leadership while serving as the Adoption Supervisor. Andrea is passionate about her work with survivors and serving the community in Gaston County.
