Meeting Cancellations - Response to COVID-19

The Gaston County Board of Commissioners (BOC), in response to COVID-19, has taken the following actions regarding meetings, effective immediately:

  • April 14 and May 12 BOC Work Sessions are CANCELLED
  • All Zoning Public Hearings are DELAYED until the May 26 BOC Regular Meeting
  • All Gaston County Commission Appointed Advisory Boards & Committee meetings are to be CANCELLED until May unless deemed absolutely necessary

The March 24, April 28 and May 26 BOC Regular Meetings will be held as scheduled; however, the County will limit the total number of persons allowed inside the Harley B. Gaston, Jr. Public Forum at the Gaston County Courthouse to no more than Fifty (50). Overflow rooms will be made available onsite at the Courthouse for LIVESTREAM viewing of the meetings. If possible, any items that may potentially result in large crowds will be rescheduled to a later date.

BOC meetings are televised on Spectrum Channel 16 and AT&T Uverse Channel 99 at 6:00 pm. LIVE STREAMING and ARCHIVED VIDEO are also available from the Commission page of the Gaston County website.

The Board of Commissioners is continuously monitoring this evolving situation and will issue new guidance as warranted. Please monitor the Gaston County website for additional notifications and alerts.
