Gaston County DHHS Unveils New COVID Dashboard
GASTONIA — The Gaston County Department of Health & Human Services (Gaston DHHS) has launched a new dashboard to share COVID-19 data and information with the community. The dashboard is now live and will be updated daily Monday through Friday.
The move to this new dashboard has been several weeks in the making. Gaston DHHS is hopeful this dashboard will provide a better interface for the local data they have been collecting. In addition to being more user-friendly, the dashboard also includes several new figures including percentage of positive tests, hospitalizations, and an interactive heat map.
“One of the key roles of public health during this health crisis is to provide timely and accurate information about COVID and its impact on our community,” shared Gaston County Public Health Director Steve Eaton. “We are hopeful that this new dashboard will help people understand the true burden of COVID on our community so they can make good decisions about protecting themselves and others.”
You can access the new site by visiting www.gastongov.com/coronavirus and clicking on the dashboard icon. Gaston DHHS would like to especially thank Naomi Paul, GIS Analyst with Gaston County’s IT Department and Marti Morris, Data Analyst for Gaston DHHS, for their hard work on this project and ongoing commitment to sharing critical data with the public.
