Gaston County Board of Commissioners to Meet Dec. 17 and 29
GASTONIA, N.C. – In response to the cancellation of its Dec. 8 meeting, the Gaston County Board of Commissioners has scheduled two meetings. The Board will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. to address matters requiring immediate attention. An official meeting notice will be issued later today.
The Board will make up its regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. Citizens wishing to address the Commission under the Citizen Recognition portion of the Dec. 29 agenda will be provided with two options (email and voicemail) to do so in advance of that meeting. A forthcoming official meeting notice will provide detailed instructions on the public comment options.
Both meetings will be held virtually. The public can watch both meetings via livestream on the Gaston County Government website, GastonGov.com, or on its government access channel on AT&T U-Verse (Channel 99) or Spectrum (Channel 16).
The decision to move the meetings virtually was one made in consultation with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Government and is a best practice to keep elected officials, staff and citizens safe given the rise in COVID-19 cases in the community.
