Senior Games Return to Gaston County
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – The Gaston County Senior Games are back and will take place at a number of venues around the county and the surrounding area from May 15 - June 25, 2021.
The games, sponsored by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services, are composed of a series of competitions ranging from archery to cycling, and are open exclusively to citizens 50 years old or better.
Established in 1983, the Senior Games are designed to encourage seniors to be more active, learn new skills, and have fun.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person events for the 2020 Senior Games were cancelled, but there were some virtual events to allow participants to qualify for state finals. This year’s games will be in-person, but for all events, indoors and outdoors, participants are required to wear a mask.
Anyone interested in participating must complete a registration form and submit payment by Monday, April 12.
