Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement Shelter to Undergo Renovations
The Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement Shelter will conduct renovations to the shelter floor April 12th thru April 29, 2018. The renovations are an effort to improve the shelter condition for the animals and address needed repairs identified by North Carolina State Department of Agriculture inspector. The Shelter will experience a reduction in capacity to house animals during this time. Intake for new animals will be extremely limited and citizens are being asked to explore all options instead of surrendering animals to the Shelter. For assistance in alternatives to surrender, please call 704-922-8677 option 1. We will resume accepting owner surrenders on May 1, 2018 from 1 pm until 3 pm.
Please see the Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement website at http://gastongov.com/departments/police for alternative solutions to surrendering your pet to the Shelter and other valuable resources.
